Pattagobhi is a green leafy vegetable which is mainly grown in cold climates. It is a vegetable of the Cruciferous family and is used in salads, soups, curry, and stir-fries. Ingredients:
- Cabbage – 500 grams (finely chopped)
- Onion – 1 medium size (finely chopped)
- Tomatoes – 2 medium sized (finely chopped)
- Green chilli – 2
- Garlic and ginger paste – 1 tbsp
- Cumin – 1 tsp
- Turmeric powder – 1 tsp
- Coriander powder – 1 tsp
- Red chilli powder – 1 teaspoon
- Garam Masala – 1/2 tspSalt – as per taste
- Oil – 2 tbsp
- Fresh coriander leaves – for garnishing (finely chopped)
How To Make Pattagobhi Recipe:
- Wash the cabbage thoroughly and chop it finely.
2. Also finely chop onion, tomato, and green chilli.
3. Heat mustard oil in a pan. Heat the oil till it smokes so that the rawness of the oil goes away.
4. Add cumin seeds in it and let it splutter.Next, add asafoetida and finely chopped green chillies.
5. Then add chopped onion and fry until golden.
6. Add turmeric powder, coriander powder, and red chili powder to the roasted onions and mix well.
7. Add tomatoes and cook until they become soft.
8. When oil starts separating from the spices, then understand that it is ready.
9. Now add finely chopped cabbage to the spices and mix well.
10. Cover the pan and let the vegetables cook for 8-10 minutes on low flame.
11.Keep stirring the vegetable in between so that it does not burn.
12. When the cabbage becomes soft and the spices mix well, add garam masala and salt.
13. Cook it for 5 more minutes.
14. Cabbage curry is ready! Garnish it with fresh coriander leaves.
15. Serve it with hot roti, paratha or rice.
