India is known for its rich culinary heritage, and parathas hold a special place in every Indian household. One such popular variety is Mooli Ka Paratha, a stuffed flatbread made with radish (mooli), whole wheat flour, and aromatic spices. This humble yet flavorful dish is not only easy to prepare but also packed with nutrients. Whether enjoyed for breakfast, lunch, or dinner, Mooli Ka Paratha is a satisfying meal that pairs perfectly with yogurt, pickles, or butter.
Mooli ka Paratha is a popular dish of North India, especially Punjab. It is one of the many varieties of stuffed parathas that are an integral part of Indian cuisine. This dish is famous for its spicy, tangy and slightly sweet flavour, which comes from the combination of fresh radish, green chillies, coriander and aromatic spices. Radish is rich in fibre, vitamins and minerals, making this paratha a great choice for a nutritious and filling meal. With a crispy golden-brown crust and soft and delicious stuffing, Mooli ka Paratha is a true comfort food.
1.Take 4 cups wheat flour in a large bowl and add 1 tsp salt to it.
2. Add water gradually and knead into a soft, smooth dough. Add 1 tsp oil to the milk and knead it again till it becomes soft.
3. Cover it with a wet cloth and keep it aside for 10-20 minutes.
4. Wash, peel and grate the radish. now Sprinkle 1 teaspoon salt on the grated radish and keep it aside for 10 minutes.
5. note: After 10 minutes, squeeze out the excess water with your hands. This step is very important as radish releases a lot of water, which makes it difficult to roll the parathas.
6. Transfer the squeezed radish to a bowl and add finely chopped green chilies, ginger, coriander leaves, red chili powder,cumin seeds, ajwain, coriander powder, garam masala, and amchur powder.
7. Mix all these spices well. and prepare dry paste.
8. Take a dough ball and roll it into a circle with the help of a rolling pin.
9. Place 2-3 tablespoons of prepared radish mixture in the centre of the rolled dough ball.
10. Now gather the dough balls or roll them out very carefully like a paratha.
11. so that the flour mixture does not spread out.
11. now Heat a tawa on medium-high heat.
12. Place the rolled paratha on a hot pan and cook for 1-2 minutes.
13. Flip the paratha and apply some ghee or oil on the cooked side. Flip again and apply ghee on the other side as well.
14. Press the edges gently with a spatula and cook until golden brown spots appear on both sides.
15. Remove from heat and serve hot with yogurt, pickle, or butter.
